Founder of NLP™ Possibilities With DHE™

In the beginning.

Even at a very young age, Elizabeth Payea, the middle child of her family, was interested in creating change within her community - and to the world at large. Affectionately known by friends and neighbours as 'Champion of the Underdog', Elizabeth began to develop quite a reputation within her downtown community of Toronto, Ontario. Elizabeth never shied away from taking strong positions on issues or sticking up for her beliefs. She learned very early on that her actions could impact and benefit others.

NLP™ on the horizon.

Elizabeth was first introduced to Neuro Linguistic Programming™ (NLP™) in 1984 while working for Manulife Financial. The company was transitioning through a merger which resulted in staff relocation. Having been offered a promotion, complete with higher pay, more perks, and challenges - a dream job for the career oriented woman that she was - Elizabeth was forced to contemplate a move to another city.

Relocating meant a great deal of change for Elizabeth who struggled to come to a decision. However, while brainstorming her options with a good friend she was introduced to a book called Frogs Into Princes by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, co-founders of NLP™. Although she didn't fully appreciate the significance of the book at the time, she was instantly intrigued. The book raised many questions for which she didn't have answers, but the following day she had clarity about the decision she would make. She accepted the promotion and moved with confidence and excitement for what the future would hold.

Three years later, Elizabeth returned home to Toronto, having left her position at Manulife Financial. Once re-settled, Elizabeth made it a priority to find the book that had created a stir in her years before.

Taking a chance.

After re-reading Frogs Into Princes, Elizabeth continued to pour over every NLP™ source she could get her hands on. At the time, the Internet had not been adapted for home use, making it challenging for Elizabeth to research NLP™ training seminars. However, good things come to those who wait, and in 1993 a very good thing happened to Elizabeth Payea-Butler. She enrolled in a sixteen day seminar, being held in Toronto by none other than Richard Bandler, co-founder of NLP™, and John LaValle, an NLP™ Master Trainer. Elizabeth knew that the training she would receive in this course would change her life again.

During her 11 days with John LaValle, she was able to connect with her goals - there were no rights or wrongs, only experiences. The remaining six days were spent with Richard Bandler who enabled her to see the big picture of concepts previously presented by Lavalle.

Elizabeth completed the seminar with more than her certification as a Master Practitioner of NLP™; she also left with a sincere dream. While working with Lavalle, he would often share personal anecdotes about using NLP™ with his family, specifically with his son. Working with children has always been a dream of Elizabeth's, who could see no better application of NLP™ than to use it with children; to teach them how to communicate effectively with one another. Elizabeth proposed that if this could be done in an international forum, it would lead to greater global understanding for future generations.

This revelation brought about another life goal for Elizabeth: to win the Nobel Peace Prize for her work with children around the world.

Fulfilling a destiny.

In 1998 Elizabeth established NLP™ Possibilities With DHE™, a Training and Fulfillment Centre, where she facilitates learning through NLP™ seminars and workshops. Elizabeth's passion for working with people and her unique training style have made NLP Possibilities™ With DHE™ one of the best known Practitioner and Master Practitioner Certification Centres in the world. By combining NLP™ with DHE™ (Design Human Engineering™), results double in all areas, allowing individuals and companies reach their ultimate potential.

In 2000, Elizabeth's dream of using NLP™ with children gave birth to what is now the crown jewel of the company, and Elizabeth's personal pride and joy. In August of 2002, Elizabeth launched her first Kids Camp, a four-day learning adventure for children and parents alike. The camp, the first and only one of its kind in the world, was a resounding success, not to mention a great deal of fun.

The fun continued for Elizabeth who, in 2004 was awarded the highest level given to an NLP™ Practitioner Trainer. For her dedicated work with NLP™, Elizabeth Payea-Butler was promoted to the level of Master Trainer of NLP™ with DHE™, one of only a few in the world certified by Richard Bandler. Her dreams were coming true!

With the success of the Kids Camp, now an annual event, and Elizabeth's growing schedule of seminars and workshops, NLP Possibilities™ With DHE™ outgrew its home base. Elizabeth created a new Training and Fulfillment Centre in the heart of Toronto. This transition has been an adventure for Elizabeth, who now feels the depth of her success.

With her First Annual Christmas Open House fast approaching, Elizabeth looks forward to welcoming NLP™ graduates, fellow Practitioners and the newly curious to experience the possibilities with NLP™. Elizabeth is now more focused than ever on her goal of developing programs using NLP™ with children, in conjunction with parents, teachers, and other childcare workers. The new-year will bring about even more adventure as Elizabeth plans an NLP Possibilities™ With DHE™ Teens Camp and NLP™ Practitioner Certification for students aged 18 - 22.
